My Story

Nishit Sarker Mithu – Secular Blogger & Human Rights Activist, Minority Rights.

Welcome to Nishit’s platform — dedicated to raising awareness, sharing real stories of persecution, and advocating for the rights and dignity of Bangladeshi minorities around the world. Nishit has spoken at venues including the House of Commons , United Kingdom during conferences focused on human rights conditions in Bangladesh.

He has also organized several protests in the UK as an organizer of the Secular Bangladesh Movement in London, condemning the persecution of Hindu minorities in Bangladesh.

As a voice for communities that are often overlooked and marginalized, the platform’s mission is to highlight the challenges faced primarily by Hindu minorities, particularly in regions where they are vulnerable, while also drawing attention to broader issues of religious freedom, secularism, cultural preservation, and social justice.

Our Mission:

Our mission is to amplify the voices of Hindu and other minorities, ensuring they are not silenced in the face of discrimination, violence, or persecution. We aim to bring attention to human rights violations, challenge prejudice, and work towards a world where religious freedom and diversity are respected and celebrated.

We believe that:

  • Every individual deserves the freedom to practice their religion without fear of persecution or violence.
  • Hindu minorities in many countries face unique challenges, from cultural erasure to physical attacks, and these issues deserve greater attention and action.
  • Human rights are universal and inalienable, and no one should be deprived of their rights based on their religious identity.

Our Focus Areas:

  • Religious Freedom & Minorities: We focus on the status of Hindu minorities in countries like Bangladesh, Pakistan, Afghanistan, and beyond. We document and share personal stories, reports, and research to raise awareness about the threats faced by these communities.

  • Violence & Persecution: We cover incidents of violence, discrimination, and hate crimes against Hindus and other religious minorities. This includes reporting on attacks during religious festivals, forced conversions, desecration of temples, and communal violence.

  • Advocacy & Legal Support: We support legal and policy measures that protect religious minorities. We advocate for international human rights bodies and governments to act on issues of religious intolerance and to hold violators accountable.

  • Cultural Preservation: Hindu communities often face the destruction of their religious and cultural heritage. We promote efforts to preserve and protect Hindu temples, art, festivals, languages, and traditions that form the essence of Hindu identity.
