State of Religious Minorities in Bangladesh: 69 Hindu Temples Attacked Since August 5

According to a recent report by the Sanatan Jagaran Jote, 69 Hindu temples in Bangladesh were subjected to attacks, including vandalism, arson, and looting, between August 5 and December 21.

The platform further revealed that it has information on an additional 50 incidents of attacks that were not included in the report as they were not covered by the media. This suggests that the actual number of attacks on Hindu temples may have surpassed 100.

Sanatan Jagaran Jote, an organization advocating for Hindu rights in Bangladesh, criticized the Interim Government led by Dr. Yunus and other political parties. The group accused them of “legitimizing” the nationwide attacks on Hindus by aligning their actions with the Awami League. The organization described the violence as clear evidence of the “communal nature” of these attacks.
